In this not-so-ordinary custody case, we represent the grandmother, Mandy Maron, who had residential custody of granddaughter Daniella. 

Mother Fran and Father Dan are notorious partiers who drink a lot and had a few DUIs.  The parents are sober from time to time and try to reinitiate parenting time, and even try to get custody of Daniella, but as soon as faced with a motion from Mandy or a hearing date, Fran or Dan fall off the grid. 

When they show up to court, their stories and excuses are full of distortions, such as telling the court that their church will supervise parenting time between them and Daniella.  When Mandy and our office called to confirm the information, we found that not only did the places Fran and Dan mentioned not provide supervised parenting time, but even the names of the ministers they mentioned who would allegedly supervise parenting time turned out to be bogus. 

Grandma Mandy is Daniella’s preferred legal custodian.  Mandy’s status seems to be protected for the near term, but if something happens to her, the entire situation is perilous for Daniella.  We are looking for other family members to step up in that regard.
