Sharon Blakely v. ABC School (2010)

Hanan M. Isaacs represented Plaintiff, a special education teacher, in her wrongful discharge and civil rights claims against employer ABC School. While Plaintiff was still recovering from knee surgery, ABC’s principal directed Plaintiff to take on teaching assignments that required her to walk and lift, activities that were explicitly prohibited by her personal physician. Plaintiff refused and ABC School terminated her, even though ABC had already assured Plaintiff, in writing, that her teaching contract had been renewed for the following school year. Hanan M. Isaacs negotiated a fair severance package for Ms. Blakely.
